Srimad Bhagavatam Tenth Canto

by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Srimad Bhagavatam Tenth Canto Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Srimad Bhagavatam Tenth Canto books, Srimad-Bhagavatam, an epic philosophical and literary classic, holds a prominent position in India's voluminous written wisdom. The timeless wisdom of India is expressed in the Vedas, ancient Sanskrit texts that touches upon all fields of human knowledge. Originally preserved through oral tradition, the Vedas were first put into writing by Srila Vyasadeva, the "literary incarnation of God." After compiling the Vedas, Srila Vyasadeva was inspired by his spiritual master to present their profound essence in the form of Srimad-Bhagavatam. Known as "the ripened fruit of the tree of Vedic literature," Srimad-Bhagavatam is the most complete and authoritative exposition of Vedic knowledge. After writing the Bhagavatam, Vyasa taught it to his son, Shukadeva Goswami, who later spoke the Bhagavatam to Maharaja Parikshit in an assembly of sages on the bank of the sacred Ganges River. Although Maharaja Parikshit was a great rajarshi (saintly king) and the emperor of the world, when he received notice of his death seven days in advance, he renounced his entire kingdom and retired to the bank of the Ganges to seek spiritual enlightenment. The questions of King Parikshit and Shukadeva Goswami's illuminating answers, concerning everything from the nature of the self to the origin of the universe, are the basis of Srimad-Bhagavatam. This edition of Bhagavatam is the only complete English translation with an elaborate and scholarly commentary, and it is the first edition widely available to the English-reading public. This work is the product of the scholarly and devotional effort of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the world's most distinguished teacher of Indian religious and philosophical thought. His Sanskrit scholarship and intimate familiarity with Vedic culture combine to reveal to the West a magnificent exposition of this important classic.

Veda Stuti Ruti G T

by Ambatipudi Kondayya Sastry, Veda Stuti Ruti G T Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Veda Stuti Ruti G T books, This book gives the transcription and translation of a talk given by late Sri Ambatipudi Kondayya Sastry garu (1911-1995) on Śruti Gītā (collection of songs/prayers by the Veda-s, the most ancient scriptures of divine revelations), as part of one of his numerous Srimad Bhāgavata saptāha-s (7-day discourses on Srimad Bhāgavatam). Except for minor edits, the translation followed the spoken words of Sri Kondayya Sastry garu from a tape, recorded about 3 decades ago. The original discourse on tape was in Telugu (Indian) language. No changes are made to the content, as the intent is to make his discourse on this rare but powerful topic available in an electronic and printed form. The Sanskrit verses (Śloka-s) cited in the talks are also included.Śruti Gītā is a collection of verses that depicts praises rendered by the Veda-s to the Absolute (Paramātmā, Brahman) at a time when a new cycle of creation is about to begin after the end of a dissolution of creation (praḻayaṁ, called kalpa). It comprises of a set of 28 verses starting from the verse 14 in the 87th chapter (adhyāya) of the 10th major Branch or Canto (Dasama Skandha) of the Srimad Bhāgavatam, written by the great sage Vyāsa. The Sanskrit language used in these verses is crisp and somewhat hard to understand as they pack a lot of meaning with minimum words. In his discourse, Sri Kondayya Sastry garu gave only a succinct discussion on a few verses of the Śruti Gītā because of insufficient time, as it is a part of the Bhāgavata Saptāham (complete discourse of the entire Srimad Bhāgavatam in 7-days). The translation is done sentence by sentence to maintain the original discourse style.
