The Man Who Dared To Dream

by Don F. Zullo, The Man Who Dared To Dream Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download The Man Who Dared To Dream books, This is a story of tragedy, love, heartbreak, hope, humor, forgiveness, and the pure power of human compassion. An old man has been living on his own for many years. Although not considered a recluse or hermit, he does spend much time alone. He is guilt-ridden and has many regrets which he thinks about in his isolation. Mainly, it’s the guilt of leaving his children on that day, those many years past. His guilt haunts him in the form of dreams and nightmares. The old man is a father whose heart aches with the love for his children, yet he finds it difficult to locate the level ground on which to have a relationship, as well as a level piece of ground to deal with the choices that he has made in his life. A bird of faith, not believed to exist, befriends him and stands by him, even to protect him from a near-death tragedy, and has the ability to locate him, no matter where he is. Although once a solid blackbird, it slowly changes to white as the man sheds his guilt. He develops a passion to make sketches of the bird, and this becomes a source that creates the problem. Due to certain circumstances, he ends up in a hospital mental ward. A continuous barrage of technicalities and other circumstances make it difficult for him to attain his freedom. He captures the love of a middle-aged, not-so pretty, recovering drug addict who along with her illiteracy had a speech impediment. A dedicated doctor finds he is not too old to learn a lesson about life from his patient. And two compassionate ward nurses befriend him and help him make life-changing decisions. His impact on them is no less life-changing. Hopefully, the man who dared to dream will capture your heart, as well.

Falling Through The Earth

by Danielle Trussoni, Falling Through The Earth Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Falling Through The Earth books, One of the New York Times Book Review's 10 Best Books of the Year A daughter's unforgettable memoir of her wild and haunted father, a man whose war never really ended. From her charismatic father, Danielle Trussoni learned how to rock and roll, outrun the police, and never shy away from a fight. Spending hour upon hour trailing him around the bars and honky-tonks of La Crosse, Wisconsin, young Danielle grew up fascinated by stories of her dad's adventures as a tunnel rat in Vietnam, where he'd risked his life crawling head first into narrow passageways to search for American POWs. A vivid and poignant portrait of a daughter's relationship with her father, this funny, heartbreaking, and beautifully written memoir, Falling Through the Earth, "makes plain that the horror of war doesn't end in the trenches" (Vanity Fair).

The Skipping Stone

by John Fodale, The Skipping Stone Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download The Skipping Stone books, There are many reasons why people play the game of golf. Some wish to play great while others hope only to become competent enough to not embarrass themselves. Yet regardless of their ability or intentions and time available most golfers seem to have the desire to experience that great golf shot or play a terrific round. Learning Golf's Essential Elements helps the golfer understand the process that it takes to learn to develop and increase physical ability, knowledge of the golf swing and game. It may be used by an individual, a group or as a class textbook. This book provides a systematic way of learning and understanding the game beginning with the golf swing. Physical limitations, time constraints and unrealistic expectations are just a few of the reasons discussed for golfers having difficulty realizing their goals. Drills and exercises are outlined and practice routines are developed. Throughout the book are stories of the author's experiences as he has learned and taught the game over the years. Many of the stories are humorous but all have a purpose in helping the reader understand the struggles of learning the game. Learning the golf swing, an essential element, is a major portion of the book. While the golf swing is important the game doesn't stop there. Putting, the short game, etiquette, rules and vocabulary are all included. Drills and routines are described for both putting and the short game. Etiquette may be the most important yet neglected component. No game can be played without rules and explanations of the most common rules are given. Necessary vocabulary is integrated throughout the book and is also a chapter itself. Whatever the motive for playing the game the reader will benefit and enjoy Learning Golf's Essential Elements.

The Man Who Knew Too Much

by Stephen Inwood, The Man Who Knew Too Much Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download The Man Who Knew Too Much books, Robert Hooke was one of the most inventive, versatile and prolific scientists of the late 17th Century, but for 300 years his reputation has been overshadowed by those of his two great contemporaries, his friend Sir Christopher Wren and his rival Sir Isaac Newton. If he is remembered today, it is as the author of a law of elasticity or as amisanthrope who accused Newton of stealing his ideas on gravity. This book, the first life of Hooke for nearly fifty years, rescues its subject from centuries of obscurity and misjudgement. It shows us Hooke the prolific inventor, the mechanic, the astronomer, the anatomist, the pioneer of geology, meteorology and microscopy, the precursor of Lavoisier and Darwin. It also gives us Hooke the architect of Bedlam and the Monument, the supervisor of London's rebuilding after the Great Fire, the watchmaker, the consumer of prodigious quantities of medicines and purgatives, the candid diarist, the lover, the hoarder of money and secrets, the coffee house conversationalist. This is an absorbing study of a fascinating and unduly forgotten man.

by Anna-Teresa Tymieniecka, Passions Of The Earth In Human Existence Creativity And Literature Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Passions Of The Earth In Human Existence Creativity And Literature books, Literature reveals that the hidden strings of the human `passional soul' are the creative source of the specifically human existence. Continuing the inquiry into the `elemental passions of the soul' and the Human Creative Soul pursued in several previous volumes of this series, the present volume focuses on the `passions of the earth', bringing to light some of the primogenital existential threads of the innermost bonds of the Human Condition and mother earth. In Tymieniecka's words, the studies purpose to unravel the essential bond between the living human being and the earth - a bond that lies at the heart of our existence. A heightened awareness of this bond should enlighten our situation and help us find our existential bearings.
