Glaubwürdig sollen die Werbebotschaften sein und gleichzeitig spritzig, frech und witzig - eben humorvoll! Deutschland gehört mit zu den größten Werbemärkten Europas. Während aber beispielsweise den Engländern seit Jahren originelle Werbekampagnen gelingen, die für ihren Witz regelmäßig auf allen wichtigen internationalen Werbefestivals mit Preisen belohnt werden, gilt die deutsche Werbung im europäischen und internationalen Vergleich als nicht besonders amüsant. Besonders der fehlende Humor im deutschen Werbeland wird regelmäßig beklagt, dies häufig von deutschen Werbern selbst. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, sich näher mit dem Thema "Humor in der Werbung" zu befassen, genauer noch, die Frage zu klären versuchen, ob Humor als ein "Allheilmittel" für effiziente Werbung einzusetzen ist und den deutschen Konsumenten von Produkten zu überzeugen vermag oder ob humorvolle Werbung doch besser "typically British" oder bei den Amerikaner bleiben sollte. Daher führt diese Arbeit zunächst über die relevanten theoretischen Grundlagen der Werbewirkung hin zum Thema "Humor und Lachen", das einen ersten Blick bezüglich deren Wirkungen auf den Menschen und sein Verhalten geben soll. Dann folgt der Kern dieser Arbeit, der sich speziell dem Thema `Humor in der Werbung` widmet. Hier werden positive und negative Aspekte angesprochen und Wirkungen diskutiert, aus denen dann Konsequenzen für die (erfolgreiche?) Werbung und ein Fazit abgeleitet werden.
